Licensing rules
Explanation of rules governing access to purchased software products by individuals or legal entities – users, their usage on a specified number of workstations, branch and server licenses, peculiarities of licenses for corporate clients, possibilities of upgrading software products to higher tiers.
The right to use the software product arises from the moment of electronic registration of the product.
Information regarding the registration of the software product, its serial number, and the end-user license agreement are specified in the registration card, which must be kept throughout the entire period of software product usage.

Key concepts
To ensure comfortable usage of business automation software products, they are categorized based on the following criteria:
- Main packages, which include the platform, application solution (configuration), and End User License Agreement for the right to use the product on a single workstation;
- Client licenses, or licenses for additional workstations;
- Server (application server);
- Bundles that include several of the aforementioned products; specialized products that expand the scope of application of business automation software products.
Licenses for additional workplaces and servers
The registered user has the right to install and use one instance of the software product on one computer at any given time.
If the user needs to use the software product on multiple computers simultaneously, they must purchase the appropriate number of licenses for additional workplaces.
Bundles of Business Automation Software (BAS) Products
If a registered user purchases a bundle consisting of several workplaces, they have the right to install and use one instance of the software product on the number of workplaces at any given time, as determined by the corresponding number of workplaces specified in the bundle.
Branch licenses
An organization planning to use the software in remote offices, retail outlets, warehouses, separate departments, and other detached facilities with their own separate local computing network must be a registered user of the main package and registered user of the necessary number of subsidiary and branch licenses.
Server licenses
The use of the software product in a “client-server” configuration is only permitted if the user has licenses for the server in a quantity equal to or greater than the number of hardware complexes and/or virtual complexes on which the software product is installed and used.
Client and server licenses for BAS CORP
Business automation software products used in the corporate segment or in large-scale branched enterprise structures require advanced server administration and management capabilities.
Among such extended capabilities, one can include:
- Handling databases (DBs) with over 500 concurrent user sessions and/or high loads (utilizing more than 12 processor cores).
- Background updating of database configurations.
- Additional management of distribution across the working servers of the cluster in terms of information databases, types of client applications, and background tasks:
– Cluster services
– Connections to information databases - Flexible load management in the cluster:
– Secure memory consumption per call
– Number of DBs per process
– Memory volume of working processes, up to which the server is considered productive
– Maximum memory volume of working processes
– Balancing strategy (based on memory, based on performance) - External session management
- Resource consumption management mechanism
- Security profiles
- Thin client update capability from the server
- Ability to publish a list of databases and thin client updates via HTTP
- Utilization of interaction server
To implement the mentioned capabilities, it is advisable to purchase client and server licenses for BAS at the CORP level.
Upgrade
A registered user of business automation software can switch to using a higher-level software product by upgrading it.
Information about the list of software products that can be upgraded and replaced, the procedure and cost of exchange, should be clarified with CONTO managers in each individual case.
